HIGH SCHOOL CAREER DAY EVENTS AND BUSINESS SPONSORSHIPS FAQS

FAQS FOR SCHOOLS

  • It is not necessary, but career day events are far more successful when they occur during school time. Historically, attendance is significantly reduced when the events happen in the evening or on a weekend.

  • Many factors have to be considered when conducting a student-centered high school career day.

NHSCDN customizes career day events for each school. Some things considered in costs are surveying students, scheduling students, recruiting speakers, scheduling speakers, the size of the school, and staff support. We will share many ideas with you on how to keep costs down and ways to get sponsorship support. A student-centered career day will connect students to the real world and assist them in preparing for their future. The school will also benefit through more partnership opportunities with the business community.

  • NHSCDN understands that school employees have limited time to plan an event. We can work with your college/career coordinator or train someone from your staff. Let us help you by coordinating your event and keeping staff participation minimal.

  • NHSCDN or the school can survey the students for their career interests. We will assist you in creating the survey and the most convenient method that works for your school.

  • Many schools are already connected to the local Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, or Rotary Club. We also have other suggestions that will bring business participants to your event.

  • The best part of a student-centered high school career day event is being present! Occasionally, the location and travel costs make it a challenge. We can provide you with that information when reviewing our services with you.
